POSITION
Summary:

Responsible for the boarding and servicing of consumer loans/lines on the FIS System, as well as processing payments, payoffs, and charge-offs. This position will also serve as functional support to the Loan Operations Help Desk in processing various requests from the field.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years previous loan servicing experience preferred
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks/projects in a disciplined and organized fashion while maintaining attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles
  • Thorough understanding of Bank compliance regulations regarding loans
  • Able to work with various software programs (i.e.:
    FIS, Word, Excel, Laser Pro, CRIF ACTion, Lotus Notes, OnBase, etc.)
  • Position requires the need to work varied hours/days including occasional overtime and possible weekends as the work load dictates.

DUTIES/
Responsibilities:

  • Board and service consumer loans/lines of credit to the FIS Loan and CIS systems with a very high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • Enter payment and payoff transactions to the FIS Loan System with a very high degree of accuracy
  • Complete routine/miscellaneous maintenance transactions as appropriate such as due date changes, extensions, disbursements, address changes, fee waivers, overpayment checks, auto debit payments, wire transfer payments, etc.
  • Prepare general ledger ticket entries to coincide with transactions entered to FIS
  • Complete daily check-back and administer the necessary corrections to resolve exceptions noted
  • Review non-post HELOC items for possible return by Deposit Operations
  • Serve as functional support for the Loan Operations Help Desk by processing various requests received from the field
  • Research and correct misapplied payments/transactions as identified by other departments
  • Research outstanding processing exceptions and provide documentation for corrections
  • Administer IRS Corrections as required
  • Complete Charge Off transactions for impaired loans
  • Provide outstanding customer service and display a positive demeanor at all times
  • Maintain outstanding quality service by meeting and/or exceeding established service level agreements
  • Participate in all required training sessions for compliance
  • Maintain adequate controls to ensure compliance with consumer protection statues/regulations

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
