Warren-Newport Public Library has two (2) immediate openings in our Circulation Department.
If you have ever dreamed of working at a library, have a passion for books and reading, and enjoy working with the public, this is the job for you! Both positions are part-time non-exempt and average 16 hours per week.
The starting hourly rate is $16.
00-$18.
00 DOQ.
Hours are flexible and may be scheduled anytime the Library is open, but candidates must be open to working some nights and two weekends per month.
Weekend hours are Saturday from 9:

m.
and Sunday from 1:

m.
to 5:
00 p.
m.
(Sunday hours are from Labor Day to Memorial Day.
Sunday hours are paid at time and half) As a Circulation Support Clerk you'll:
Open and close the circulation department.
Check in, out and renew library materials.
Keep hold shelf current.
Complete procedures for express pickup service.
Answer and route incoming telephone calls and make public and staff announcements.
Process all cash register transactions.
Issue, update and renew library cards.
Uphold the confidentiality of library use and library user records.
Resolve routine circulation desk problems.
Feed and sort returned materials to conveyor belt.
Maintain conveyor belt as necessary.
Perform shelving duties as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Library experience preferred but not required.
Effectively communicate in English, both orally and written.
Bilingual (Spanish) skills highly preferred, but not required.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
Working knowledge of basic computer programs and office equipment.
Requires full-range of body motion including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time.
